Update! Mettre à jour! Aktualizovat!

Today, many of the streets of Canada and the Czech Republic are now visible in Street View! Here are the Canadian regions:

  • Banff National Park
  • Calgary, Alberta
  • Halifax, Nova Scotia
  • Hamilton, Ontario
  • Kitchener, Ontario
  • Montréal, Quebec
  • Ottawa, Ontario
  • Québec, Quebec
  • Toronto, Ontario
  • Vancouver, British Columbia
And in the Czech Republic, the most coverage is in and around the Praha area, but then extends to Beroun, Brno, Mělník, Poděbrady, and Příbram.

I can't wait to see what these countries' streets have to offer! Thanks, Google!

FlagFreak, your prediction re Canada was almost right on the money! As for Canada - I can't help but cynically wonder when the fuss will start over privacy. Many of Czech Republic's streets are featured on two other websites with similar street view-style services; however, Google's is, by far, the easiest to use.

As always, I'm thrilled to have a new update and it's great that Czech Republic and Canada's images are high res. Unfortunately, the new U.S. (and Japan) images released today are low resolution, like most of the rest of the country. This makes Street View a lot less useful. They tell us in their blog SV is great for confirming addresses because you can street signs. Well, unfortunately, for many U.S. streets, this is not true. Please, Google, consider upgrading the U.S. images.

Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg?

Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, all major cities, are missing. Niagara Falls, Windsor, and Sault St. Marie (all border towns adjacent to US cities with coverage) should also have had it by now, not to mention Thunder Bay and Sudbury.

They have many more countries they are collecting imagery from according to their website at the top of this website.

it turns out not all of the U.S. imagery is low resolution. New York and L.A. As well as some other areas now have high res imagery and it looks fantastic!

Good chunks of Northern California such as Trinity County/Shasta county.etc have High Res imagery. It's fun to see the foothills in it. ;)
