Samochody w Polsce (a Česká republika)

Krakow Post reports that Google Polska has announced Street View imagery being constructed for two cities in Poland: Krakow and Warsaw.

This is great news, but another European nation has been reported to be upcoming (one that even Street View Stuff didn't know about). According to the same article, three countries were listed as also being upcoming. Greece and Hungary were listed, along with a surprise nation, the Czech Republic!

Actually, the Czech addition isn't too surprising, since Google cars have been spotted in many other European nations.

Meant to post about the plans for Greece - that seems to conflict with the recent news Greece is being difficult.

Speaking of which - what is the deal with their data protection agency insisting on knowing how long the images will be retained? Isn't the idea for the images to remain permanently until updates are made?

Lots of good posts lately FlagFreak, by the way ...

I can understand the concerns with how long search data is retained, by why the images? Don't they understand the purpose of these images is to help people find their way around? Do they expect us to use the images for six months, and then too bad - we can't use them anymore because they've been up there for six months? For crying out loud. Sometimes I think these data protection people are clueless when it comes to Street View.

Okay, I got a little off track here, but since you mentioned Greece ...

Google says it wants to cover the whole world. I wonder when GSV will get to the following places, just to name a few:

Asia: China, India, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Jordan, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey

Africa: Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda

North/Central/South America: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Jamaica, Panama
